The key to providing critical information to a customer is being able to support vehicles and the vast information they provide. When it comes to Electric Vehicles such as Tesla, we wanted to support the fastest-selling EV on the planet. So when customers ask us “I have a fleet of Teslas can you support us and our business needs?” we can answer confidently.
Yes.
We do this by understanding information from Tesla’s Controller Area Network (CAN bus). The CAN bus is what all the devices in the car use to communicate with each other. With our device and know-how, we can listen in on the CAN bus and also send messages to request the devices to provide us with information. This allows us to get a much richer dataset to use in providing either real-time alerts (for instance real-time battery) and really working out what an asset is doing and how it compares to the rest of the fleet.
